DotA 2 Valve Server Spotted!
Recently, a fellow member of the Playdota forums is found something which is likely the Valve”s DotA 2 test servers. This is huge found, because until now there”s no particular updates about what happen with DotA 2 development.
You can also try to find it yourself by open Steam, click View > Servers, click the Favorites tab, click Add A Server, type 67.135.39.161 into the text field, click Find Games At This Address.
From this server, wa can know several things.
– The server name is “VALVe dota Server #x (srcds156)”.
– The game name is “Defense of the Ancients”, sound familiar?
– The player size is 12, this could means 10 players 2 referee just like DotA. But the possibility of having 6v6 players is still open 😀
– The map name is “dota”
And via DotA2Talk, we know that the IP address 67.135.39.161 that used as the DotA server is provided by the same Internet Provider (Qwest Communications Company) that hosts valvesoftware.com. The server at that IP address also once a Left 4 Dead 2 server. Pretty much interesting when we got some insight on how they develop the game rite?
And IceFrog confirms on his profile page on PlayDota:
@rzor: That is one of the servers we”ve been using for our DotA 2 development testing. The guys on our dev team always like to play a few games at night when
they get home.
Hope they will publish the beta server and let us join the beta testing very soon! 😀
